The Creative Alternatives model has developed over 35 years of practice. We are pleased to offer the following trainings and workshops to share what we have learned
Creative Alternatives provides an intensive six-month training in our methodology exclusively for potential new CANY program staff. The training is both didactic and experiential, working within CANY groups with in-patient psychiatric patients at Mount Sinai Hospital. For more information about this training, please contact us.
Creative Alternatives provides graduate internships to second year NYU Drama Therapy students. Other drama therapy students may also apply for this internship program.
Creative Alternatives offers training workshops for staff at any facility seeking professional development in the following areas: 1.
Workshops to enhance and improve staff cohesion
and communication in order to build a stronger
and more conscious professional community to
better meet the needs of clients within the
working environment. Trainings are an opportunity for staff to experience the healing and creative aspects of a drama therapy group experience, whether for staff development or for learning drama therapy skills. Participants are offered a forum for engaging in a professional community-building process through creative self-expression, discussion and play. Training programs are tailored to meet the discrete needs of each organization and range from one-time, 90-minute experiential workshops to long-term, comprehensive training enabling site staff to fully implement our methodology into their setting. Fees vary with the training program and take into consideration the unique circumstances of each site. Please contact us for more information on a training workshop for your organization.
